Mission Statement

We build accessible, community driven music programs for Eastern Sierra youth, offering hands-on education in music production, marketing, and live performance so students can learn, create, and grow.

501(c)(3) Status

Sierra Music Cooperative is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 41-2235826). All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our exemption was granted effective November 17, 2025.

What We Stand For

Accessibility

Accessibility Music education shouldn't depend on your zip code or your family's income. We work to remove barriers so every young person in the Eastern Sierra has a real shot at learning, creating, and performing.

Community

We're neighbors teaching neighbors. Our instructors are working musicians from the area, our board members are local parents and teachers, and every program we run is built around the people who live here.

Youth Development

Music teaches more than notes and chords. It builds discipline, confidence, creative problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate — skills that carry young people far beyond the stage.

Local Focus

The Eastern Sierra is a small, rural community. We exist specifically for this place and these people — not as a satellite of some larger organization, but as something that grew here organically and belongs here.

Get Involved today!

Share your passion. Teach the next generation. Make music with our community.

Sierra Music Cooperative is looking for musicians, producers, engineers, and builders who want to give back. Volunteer to teach kids hands-on classes in music performance, recording, production, and stage set building. No formal teaching experience required, just a love for your craft and a willingness to share it.

Not into teaching? That’s okay too. The Co-op is a place for local musicians to connect, collaborate, and perform in a supportive, creative environment. Whether you’re looking for a band, a jam session, or just a room full of people who get it. There’s a place for you here.
