Sierra Music Cooperative

Community Music Rooted in the Sierra

We're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit bringing hands-on music education, recording, and live performance to Eastern Sierra youth. Based in Bishop, CA. built by this community, for this community.

Education & Lessons

From first chords to full recordings, our youth music programs meet students exactly where they are. We offer one-on-one and group lessons in guitar, bass, drums, keys, voice, and more. Taught by local musicians who know this community. No experience necessary, just the desire to learn.

Live Performance

Music education means nothing without an outlet. Our students perform live at community events, local venues, and cooperative showcases throughout the year, building real confidence and real experience in front of real audiences. The stage is part of the curriculum.

Recording & Production

Students in our production program learn the full creative process of recording, mixing, and releasing their own music using professional tools. We cover everything from mic placement to marketing, giving students skills that extend far beyond the studio. No experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to create.

Venue & Studio

Our space is built for the community. A dedicated home for lessons, rehearsals, recording sessions, and live performance. Whether you're a student picking up an instrument for the first time or a local musician looking for studio time, our doors are open. Come make something.

Get Involved today!

Share your passion. Teach the next generation. Make music with our community.

Sierra Music Cooperative is looking for musicians, producers, engineers, and builders who want to give back. Volunteer to teach kids hands-on classes in music performance, recording, production, and stage set building. No formal teaching experience required, just a love for your craft and a willingness to share it.

Not into teaching? That’s okay too. The Co-op is a place for local musicians to connect, collaborate, and perform in a supportive, creative environment. Whether you’re looking for a band, a jam session, or just a room full of people who get it. There’s a place for you here.

What We've been Listening To
